Warner Japan has announced an October Blu-ray release for 'Gremlins' and 'Goonies,' fueling speculation that the studio is also planning a domestic debut for the '80s classics.

Two of the most beloved hits of the decade, Warner Japan has set a simultaneous October 8 bow for 'Gremlins' and 'The Goonies' on Blu-ray, with each enjoying remastered 1080p video and extensive supplemental features.

At press time, Warner Home Video had yet to announce any U.S. Blu-ray versions of either title, nor have any domestic retailers yet listed them on their upcoming pre-order lists.

However, the overseas release of both 'Goonies' and 'Gremlins' bodes well for a future U.S. release

You know what - maybe the guy is a Blu troll, but from the few posts I've read, he's posting legit and interesting info. I see no reason to bash the guy for posting about potential upcoming Blu releases, just because you dislike BD. If he goes on ridiculous Blu rants like Jono used to, fine, but so far I only see reasonable posts. Perhaps it is you Reaggie who is trolling, looking for a pro-Blu poster to villify.

We have every reason to ban shills who use the Message Board to advertise products. If he had posted one or two news items, we would have welcomed them. Instead, smellyfellow posted ten different Blu-ray promos in one morning (along with three anti-HD DVD rants). No sane person spends his time that way unless somebody is paying him. That's why the administration here continues to ban him (under his various new names) on a weekly basis.

Then ban scotsman, he is blatantly advertising toshibas new dvd player, and you better ban yourself for reviewing/advertising all those movies.

Under this name, I haven't seen any anti-HD DVD threads. Maybe I should look harder. You have to admit, though, that there are a couple members in this debate that have been mentioned that post any anti-Blu info they can find. Should they not also be banned? All I've seen from this guy is info about upcoming Blu releases (here and the Criterion thread). If the new generation of Blu troll simply posts upcoming Blu specs, it's OK with me. I don't want trolls around here, especially after how they destroyed the message board around the time of the end of HD DVD, but let's at least try and show some impartiality. If he starts posting graphs everywhere, and throwing out out the PS3-is-the-greatest-machine-ever-invented threads, certainly, ban him.

Well i find his topics very informative and have yet to find any fault in them, and it is good that you should need only to visit one site for all your hi-def movie and tech news instead of having to trott around every other pop-up infested site out there. The guy cant be anti hd-dvd, because that format no longer exists.
