When I saw this at my local independent theater, I WAS TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY by its cinematic execution, story, and soundtrack. Not to mention your HERO-out-for-revenge IS BOTH DEAF & MUTE, going out a la John Woo style. Talk about your ultimate underdog. It was very well done! WIDELY PRAISED cult hit. http://www.mediacircus.net/bangkokdangerous.html
BANGKOK DANGEROUS

Then comes Hollywood's western transition of the flic... The hero is not deaf, and he can talk (in fact, he's very talkative in the trailer), and he's being played by none other than Nicholas Cage. With the exception of his ability to shoot a gun & ride the motorcycle (based on the trailer)... I see NOTHING similar to the original.
Hey, at least they stuck with the original title! Here's hoping the "remake" do some sort of justice. Then again, this ain't Scorcese, and it ain't "Infernal Affairs." Do yourselves a favor- WATCH THE ORIGINAL & savor the symphony.

I could care less about remakes anymore. It's a dog eat dog world.
Honestly the only remake I care about at this point is Rocky Horror Picture Show and how it's going to be raped my MTV.

Well, they've done the remake thing to death, they've dipped into most of the major comic book franchises, Asian cinema is the obvious next step.
Anime/Manga doesn't seem untouchable either.
DBZ and Cowboy Bebop movies in the works, along with James Cameron's take on "Battle Angel".

"...producer Erwin Stoff (The Matrix, Constantine, A Scanner Darkly) is the man heading the project, and that it is still very much in the early stages. He also just happens to be the agent and manager of Keanu Reeves..."

Eh... I'd see a Cowboy Bebop movie. Which reminds me. I need to repurchase Cowboy Bebop and Cowboy Bebop Knockin' On Heavens Door.
