What the...??

The 62-year-old singer and actress is reported to be in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third Batman film from British director Christopher Nolan.

The Oscar-winner will join a cast that includes Johnny Depp as The Riddler as she plays the whip-carrying burglar. The character has also been played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.

A studio executive said: "Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years.

"The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Filming of the new Batman instalment, provisionally entitled The Caped Crusader, is due to begin in Vancouver early next year.

I really doubt that this is real... especially this soon... But when I think about it... that's how I want the Catwoman to be... some Femme Fatale in her twilight years. It sounds like it could work. However I really doubt that this is confirmed.

Cher? Of all people on the planet . . . CHER!!!

Well, I can see this franchise is headed for a nose dive. I mean, come on kids, Cher as Catwoman just sounds wrong!

"Cher as Catwoman just sounds wrong." --Tim

Yeah, especially after Halle Berry made such an indelible impression in the role.

To be honest, when Heath Ledger was picked as the Joker I had the same "What the??" reaction. Thankfully I was wrong and he made it his own and gets better with repeat viewings. So now I must say I have faith in Nolan and his vision. If he thinks Cher will fit the Catwoman role he has in his mind then so be it. She did win an Oscar once right?

I like that they're saying she will play Catwoman in her twilight years. It'll be intersting to see what he has in mind cause you can go a few places with a criminal in their twilight years wanting one last hurrah, a big payoff, or even revenge shall we say.

This is all assuming that the telegraphs story is true of course.

I doubt this is true, remember before Ledger got the job as the Joker, Robin Williams was rumored to be up for the role. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Phillipe were said to be in the running for Harvey Dent. Yet when Nolan was interviewed about it later he said those people were never even close to his first choices. Take this with a huge grain of salt.

The thing that makes me go "No way is this true or real" Is that the movie only came out last month.... More then likely They won't even start thinking about casting for another 6 months.

Nolan is so balls right now he could cast Jim Gaffigann in the role and I would trust him.

I've actually met Jim Gaffigan... he smells sweet. Like Pinapples. Needless to say... I would see Batman 3 with Gaffigan as the Catwoman.
