View profile »The DVS450H also supports all features we have now come to expect from DVD players such as up-conversion sent out over an HDMI cable to a high-definition TV, and its also compatible with CDs, MP3 files, Windows Media Audio and JPEG images.
The player will be released early October.
Surely this opens the door to cheap pirated HD content?

Be it in DIVX, MPEG-4, VC-1 or what have you.
LG and other electronic makers want to sell hardware not software. So, they include features that have little merit unless you use them for piracy.

View profile »However with the event of Divx HD and now players supporting that codec this once again opens the door for p2p ripped HD movies being burnt to 10c dvd media and played on standard DVD hardware.
Maybe naively I didn't expect this quite so early in a formats life. This something DVD did not have to face in its infancy.

Here you can do the same with videos in the DIVX, VC-1 and AVC (H.264) format.

View profile »As most DVD players support divx play back it surely means LG are one of the first but not the last to offer Divx HD
