It looks like all the talk of Dark Knight matching Titanic has died down. It should eke its way past $500 mill domestic this weekend which is obviously huge, but it's unlikely to finish with more than $520 M or so.
I wouldn't be shocked, however, if WB waits for the likely Heath Ledger nomination announcement and then re-releases the movie in early '09 in hopes of tacking on enough to make a run at the #1 slot.

that is possible as warner did this last year with "michael clayton" (re-releasing it when the movie got several oscar nominations).
however, chris, why did you mention "the dark knight" on this message board again? let's try to forget that this movie exists.

I'm completely unimpressed by TDK's massive box office gross since it didn't overtake "Titanic".

Geez that's a lot of cash. When do the Oscar noms get announced again? I'm guessing if they re-release this in theatres (especially with the rumoured extended edition theatre release) that we won't be seeing this movie on bluray for a while?
Ah well, there are some good movies scheduled for release in the latter half of this year.

Re-releases don't usually interfer with video releases. I'm guessing late Nov - Dec.
