What are you using the analogue for that you love so much? Unless it's for 5.1 or 7.1 audio I don't get the use. HDMI makes things so much easier!

i have no idea what the point of this thread was because i was half dead drunk when i wrote it and was listening to vinyl. i think i may have wanted to get the point across that imo..vinyl sounds waayyyy better than digital. but anybody that knows anything about this sorta stuff already knows that. haha. anyway..fell free to talk about hdmi handshake issues all you want.

I believe the assumption was that you were talking about 5.1 analog outputs over HDMI. Not Analog music records over digital.
