Less than a year after starring in the biggest movie of his volatile career, Nicolas Cage led the North American box office to its worst weekend in five years on Sunday with one of his weakest.

"Bangkok Dangerous," a thriller in which the 44-year-old actor plays a jaded assassin, opened at No. 1 with estimated three-day earnings of just $7.8 million, distributor Lionsgate said. While no one was expecting it to be a hit, industry observers had predicted it would earn more than $10 million.

I knew this would happen with this film. The quality of movies being released these days has been sub-par, which makes me suspect about the new film with DeNiro and Pacino.

Cage needs a new agent or it might help if he actually read some of the scripts that he gets.

I think Eddie Murphy is the worst for this. I mean, "Shrek" was a big one for him, but "Shrek The Third" wasn't very good. Even children didn't like that one, and now they're making a fourth...

This is the most redundant movie since Gus Van Sant's remake of psycho. This was already a Thai produced movie that they remade with almost the entire cast returning with the exception of Cage who replaces the protagonist. I'd rather go down to the small video store near me that rents foreign releases then watch another badly attempted American remake of Asian cinema.

At least the Shrek movies make money, which is more then Murphy can say for "Meet Dave".
