as much as self-styled republicans hate socialist policies, the us government has bailed out freddie mac, fannie mae, and now AIG. if this government was truly serious about preserving a capitalist economy, then it would've let those companies die the deaths that they deserve. instead, taxpayer money is being spent on saving chodes.

why isn't mccain denouncing these bailouts?

OK Eddie... advice: don't buy stocks!

Remember that brief scene in Airplane! (1980), late in the film, when the 'doomed' aircraft's situation is briefly seen debated on a TV show, where the guy says "They bought their tickets, and they knew what they were getting into... I say LET EM CRASH!" - (something like this).

Seriously, it's a bad situation either way, bailout or not, and the fat cats get away with bonuses and "escape" policies at the expense of the hard-working public who's got different investments in these companies. I'm worried about more bad news. But please don't be foolish and blame everything on Bush and/or Republicans. Lots of these guys are Democrats, and I heard that the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac executives were appointed by the Clinton administration. And that Obama has received numerous large contributions from both Fannie and Freddie (among others).

And tonight, Obama is at a Hollywood fundraiser hosted by Barbra Streisand, something like $2800 a plate. So, while he's championing for the "little guy" and "families" in speeches lately, tonight he's schmoozing with Hollywood's liberal elite.

I don't like conservatives but I stray away from liberals since alot of Hollyweird celebrities are liberal. Don't get me wrong I love movies and some celebs but a big majority of them are nutjobs.

Tony... Obama's message has been on how much he cares for the "working class", "struggling families" etc, and claims small contributions have made up his main support... but now we understand he's in real need of big money so as to be a major player until Nov 4. And to do this, he needs the rich elites, which is often Hollywood fundraisers. Obama attacks any progress of America's economy (always emphasing the 'bad news', like today's headlines), but he's more than willing to take big money from the rich Hollywood liberal elite (who've benefited economically here in the US).

I actually have the figure for tonight's event way off. I heard a new report that if you wanted to be seen with Barbra Streisand, the cost tonight is actually a whopping $27,500 + another $2500 for the dinner and performance. With a major chunk going to Barack's compaign... the man championing for the "working class", etc... uh huh.

Obama's a smooth-talking, Harvard grad, who's been raised over the last decade or so under the big 'Chicago-style' political machine. And for 20 years, he often attended and raised his family at an openly racist, "black-liberation" church who's ministers have attacked America, Israel, and our nation's leaders and government... remember, the "U.S. of KKK" remark, and some many others (check the YouTube videos).

Sorry Tony, but Obama isn't fooling me.

Nobody's perfect Eddie. But if McCain had been a member for 20 years of an extremist racist church, somehow I think the far left would never let any American voter forget it, day after day after day, etc. But have you noticed that McCain's ads have steered clear of using any of the racist videotape from that church?

And I chuckle how you love that word "chode".
I've caught myself using it too around friends too.

I used to say "joker" but often now I say "chode" too. Thanks Eddie.

the character attacks are much more subtle than you describe, joe. ads paid directly by mccain don't mention obama's former pastor, but ads paid by local parties and local PACs smear doodoo everywhere. if mccain were really serious about elevating the level of discourse, then he'd flat out say, "people who smear doodoo about obama are wrong, and i repudiate them--even if they're republicans." i haven't heard a single peep from mccain disavowing the racist, homophobic, and christian-centric elements that are part of his constituency.

Eddie!... LOL

Everything you said above can be transferred to the exteme on the Dem side too, like those far lefties MOVEON.ORG, George Soros, Code Pink, PeTA, those exteme environments (not the normal ones, but the ones that start fires against developers construction projects etc), and many others on the left. Those groups are never "endorsed" by the main candidates, but they go about their "business" anyway.

Did you notice any far-right groups try to interrupt the Dem Convention? Nope... but the the far-left penetrated the Repub convention and made a scene the night of McCain's speech. This kind of stuff happens all the time... and it's almost always some fanactial left-winger who makes a scene against a Repub candidate (and not the other way around).
