lately i've been having a craving to watch the tv shows i grew up with. you may have seen them while flipping challels or what have you. i know there are alot more people like myself who would love to re-visit their childhood with these classic shows. here are some of the ones i would buy if a dvd came out:

aahhh! real monsters
are you afraid of the dark?
rocko's modern life
cat-dog
the angry beavers
all that (the original cast)
keenan and kel
pete and pete

there are a few more, but they arent coming to mind. so does anyone know if any of these will make it to dvd?

I would love Rocko's Modern Life. That was a great cartoon.

I was thinking of some more:
Doug
Secret World of Alex Mack (don't know how this one holds up, I haven't seen it in a while)

These new generations of Nickelodeon viewers have their cartoons, and I want mine back.

I think, in fact, I hope that if Nickelodeon goes for the nostalgia buck (and I sincerely hope they do), that the first wave of Nick Nostalgia DVDs goes for the first seasons of Doug, Rugrats, The Adventures of Pete & Pete and Rocko's Modern Life. Perfection.

October 12th is when the first and second seasons of Ren & Stimpy will be on DVD. As for "Hey, Dude" and "Salute Your Shorts", that could wait until a second wave, if they have the rights. Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, and The Adventures of Pete & Pete should take center stage first. Those were the big ones for me. Maybe Paramount will have this rolling maybe next year. I keep reading that they have ambitious TV-on-DVD plans for 2005 and I hope this is part of it.

What about Ren & Stimpy, Hey Dude or Salute your Shorts? Ren & Stimpy already has the first 2 seasons on DVD though.

I was thinking about these shows again, and I want them bad. A show I just remembered was Kablam! It was animated and had 2 hosts (I forgot the names), where they would introduce about 5 different segments per episode. The segments I remember were: Action League Now, something with "Fondue" in the title, and Prometheus and Bob. I saw on eBay that people are selling cpmplete dvd sets of Pete and Pete, Are you Afrain of the Dark, Salute your Shorts, and others, but they looked burned, and homemade so I'll hold off for official releases. You guys dont know how much I want these! I seriously spent my entire childhood not watching anything but these shows.

OMG, I remember Tomorrow People. That show aired for just one season on Nick, I think.

I also want a tv series called Fifteen, a cheesy soap opera that aired in the early 90's.
Does anyone here know that show?

Also, I remember a bunch of the morning shows like "Adventures of David The Gnome"..

if anyone's interested, here's an interesting link about old Nick shows.. maybe it'll
jolt some nostalgia in you.

YugiDean,

I remember "You Can't Do That On Television." I think that show pretty much paved the way for other nickelodeon shows. I'm sure it has a cult following. I don't remember "The Tomorrow People."

Who else could go for "Double Dare" Season One?

Also, if they release Mr. Ed on DVD, they should release most of these...I mean, come on...it's a friggin' talking horse!
