It seems that Universal rejected the animated film "Tin Tin", which was supposed to be helmed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson.
Quote:
The final budget for their 3-D animated Tintin had come in at $130 million. In reporting the studio's decision, the Times commented, "Universal's refusal to finance Tintin underscores how in today's tough economic climate, bottom-line concerns trump once-inviolable relationships between studios and talent.

Who knows, perhaps hollywood will get even tighter, and we'll start seeing smaller and smaller films (in scale that is), where films actually focus on stuff other than cgi and unbelievable paychecks (Tobey "The Nag" Maguire)
This also might be a chance for many indies and low-budget films out there to reach a broader audience, since it's usually cheaper for studios to buy them off and distribute them.

the folks at universal are probably still trying to get back the money that they spent on peter jackson's "king kong".
