Well I guess this was going to happen one day. Just as records and tapes were replaced by CDs. So say goodbye to scratched CDs and hello to corrupted media cards.

Tony,

Your link is all messed up. It takes me to a Comcast page that wants me to update my browser instead of showing the article.

Whats interesting is they make no mention of DRM (Digital Rights Management). How are they going to prevent the music from being copied?

I saw some special edition cd at hot topic last week end that seemed to be on some kind of flash drive. It looked interesting because it was shaped like a bullet but I had never heard of the band. By the way I was there buying a CD not clothes. I am not 14

I'm curious to see how many of these cards will be returned to the store because either the card was accidently wiped clean by the user or the data was corrupted right out of the package. I know from all the cards I've used that sometimes they are quite volatile. I'd rather have a cd hard copy any day. Many times they need a format after a while just to keep them straight.

Also, will they give the card the same sized music files as found on CD or are they gonna pull some kind of 256k crap quality for the same price of a cd?

You don't have to be 14 to shop at Hot Topic. I'm 20 and I still go to Hot Topic to buy t-shirts and stuff. But I guess if your 30 something then its kinda weird.

Tim silly, they don't have skater clothes at hot topic. You go to Journey's or Zoo york for skater clothes.

Hot topic sells mostly music related things. Mostly catering towards Goths,Emos and Punks.

Another thing that's got me confused (which isn't hard these days) is the price of blank CD's is still WAY cheaper than 1GB flash drives. What gives?
