Why don't cable manufacturers make cables that are 1ft or less in length? Why do I have to buy a cable that is 10 times the length that I need? I stack my components in a cabinet and the distance between the inputs is 3ft for all total! AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Sorry I just needed to vent.

I would like to use 1ft coax RCA plug cables for my SACD player (5.1 Analog). I was looking at Monoprice.com and they have a set of 1ft rg59u cables but not sure if they are 75ohm. Two sets might work.

I made alot of my own cables as well. Unfortuntely there is no bulk HDMI cable yet available. You can go to higher end audio stores, and they will sell short lengths at really high prices!

Unless your cables show and you don't want the messy look, most standard three-foot coaxial cables are identical in sound quality to shorter ones. Also, should you ever decide to place your components a little farther apart, the extra length will come in handy (unless you want to buy all new cables).

I feel that pain as well Ironbull! I have 6ft RCA cables connecting my preamp to my amp, which sit about 4 inches apart, side by side.

I have not bought anything from this site, as they appear to be a bit expensive, but they custom make the cables to whatever length you want, so may be worth looking at. Will also bundle them which is a plus for 5.1 or 7.1 analogue.
