Who cares about why Blu-ray stutters, we are close to entering a depression with our country at war and our government spending close to a trillion dollars to bail out investment and banking firms. We won't have Social Security in 20 years. If it's not food, gas, water, shelter, heat and clothing than ofcourse it will stutter.

Plus you don't have to actually buy all of your movies on discs, you know, as that's what RENTALS are for. (especially in tough economic times)

Netflix have said Blu-ray rental will have little effect on their 2008 business so not many are renting either - not from Netflix anyway.

Another story I've read this week is that Notebook makers are pulling BD drives from the specifications of their upcoming models. This may be a follow up to reports earlier this year that PC makers were asking for price concessions from OEM BD producers. A request that was being refused - even in the face of losing orders.

Quote:
BLU-RAY DRIVES, introduced by many notebook manufacturers as a high-end feature in top-of-the-range notebooks, are being selectively sidelined as manufacturers rethink strategies and adjust sales targets to the worrisome economic climate.

Santa won't be bringing me the the dozen or so BD disks for Christmas that he had planned. Maybe 2 or 3. This holiday season is going to be real intersting all around.
