Hey Everyone,

Haven't posted in a while, and been visiting family in Mississippi which means LOTS of movies for sanity purposes. Here's some thoughts on flicks I saw:

School of Rock - Just a cool flick.

Duplex - Sucked hard. One funny scene. You've seen it--it was the Riverdance scene in the commercial. I know you'll probably rent it when the DVD comes out. Too bad because it's awful. Only my goofy twit no talent step-sister liked it. But she's about two i.q. points from retarded.

The Rundown - Went to see this because "Intolerable Cruelty" was sold out. Man, am I glad. It was EXCEEDINGLY entertaining. All of us loved it. It has been marketed very poorly, and it's very funny and very well made. Just great to look at, and it has one of the best sound mixes I've ever heard in a theater. People aren't going to see it, I don't know why. Maybe because "the Rock" is in it, and makes people think of wrasslin'. But to me, it ranks with X2 and Finding Nemo as the most entertaining flicks this year.

Underworld - Kind of fun. But it didn't really add anything. Kind of like potato chips without the salt. Go see the Rundown instead.

BTW, if ever you find yourself in Biloxi, MS for a gambling getaway or whatever, catch a flick at the Imperial Palace hotel/casino. The sound was incredible. They obviously play their movies at (at least) studio reference level (read: loud enough to hear and pinpoint all ambient sounds), on perfectly calibrated equipment. I saw "The Rundown" there, and it was bar none the best movie sound presentation I've ever heard.

Now I'm just waiting for my Matrix Reloaded DVD to get here. Oh, did I mention you should go see The Rundown? :)

Recent flicks I would recommend are:

KILL BILL:
amazingly good, Tarantino you are a genius.

LOST IN TRANSLATION:
Kind of funny, in a weird sardonic sort of way, but good though.
