well, I guess maybe Spike Lee shouldn't throw stones if he lives in a glass house. His new movie is being called historically inaccurate.

I guess you can't expect much from someone who was upset that Black soldiers didn't feature prominently in Eastwood's two pictures "Flags of our Fathers" where none of the soldiers who raised the Flag are black, and "Letters from Iwo Jima" which is about Japanese soldiers.

There are always two sides of a story.
But anyway, controversy is good, it usually means good sales too. Keep posting.

It's PC crap like this that gets me fired up.
What does this mean? Did ANY black soldiers assist in the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima?
Answer: NO.
Spike Lee has a huge chip on his shoulder and should know that the only black battalion on Iwo Jima was a small munitions supply unit that came to the beach.

I wonder how accurate Oliver Stones "W" is going to be?

Hopefully it will show how "W" lied to the American people, gave up our sovereignty and dug us into the biggest canyon of debt the likes of which we've never seen.

I think W looks HILARIOUS!
At first I thought W was going to be a serious film telling us that Bush sucks. We all know Bush sucks, theres no point in restating that. W looks like it will be good political satire.
As for Spike lee he lives in a fantasy world.
His next film will be about how the anglo saxons were really black.

I think it's funny that he complained about the inaccuracy of previous WW2 movies because they didn't depict Black Combat Soldiers. Yet when actual survivors of this event point out his inaccuracy he states they have no right to tell him how to make HIS movie. Whereas Clint Eastwood actually consulted with both American troops who fought at Iwo Jima and the families of the Japanese soldiers, in order to get the right feel for his two movies. Lee apparently is more concerned about pushing his agenda.
Any first year history major could tell you there weren't a lot of Black combat units in WW2. So I guess he would rather have Clint's movies set in a fantasy land were all the combat troops were black and all the cooks and munitions supply soldiers were white.
I'm not downplaying how black troops were treated it was a travesty especially considering that Nations like France had fully integrated their armed forces as far back as WW1, but it's historical fact, trying to pretend it didn't happen does all those black WW2 vets a disservice.
