Ok some people may balk at this thread, but hey it is all in fun. I was just sitting here thinking about this time last year when the line was drawn and we were at each others necks about Blu Ray and HD DVD. What a fun time that was. We all know how it turned out and I was one of the ones that got burnt like a Summer day at the pool. Ahhh the memories, the arguments, the know it alls (yes I was one of them) the bickering back and forth.

I say we should hold a mock debate like the days of old to bring back some of those good memories.

I remember this one time, I was eating a sandwich, I was ham and the bread was toasted. It was so great.

If Warner had opted to drop Blu-ray in favor of HD DVD, then HD DVD would have won the war, and the masses would have migrated to High Def in vastly higher numbers than there are today. People would be able to go into their local electronics store and buy an HD DVD player for $69.95, and the majority of movies would be priced at $19.99 or less to meet the demands of the multitudes who moved to HD DVD. DL 51GB HD DVD's would also be a reality. Sony would have been devastated by Blu-rays loss in the format war, and the PS3 would have been labelled a complete failure.

EDIT: Meanwhile, Blu-ray players have only recently cracked the $200 barrier, and the vast majority of people still think the technology is too expensive, the movies are too expensive, and would much rather continue to download their Divx/Xvid rips from P2P sites.

Well the thing that blows my, is that HD DVD is dead, but it's spirit is still alive. I mean you can still get a player on line, the movies are still out there and people are still buying into the format that should have one. (that last line is a plant He He!!!) Me I am still trying to decide if I should keep my A2 and my 25 movies or dump them?

I wonder how much longer it will be before we start to see blu-rays in the $5 bin at Walmart?

Personally, I'm glad it's over. There were some fun times but also some real wackos.

I wonder what it'sthrobbing/smegma is doing with himself these days. I know he showed up afterwards but still, I wonder what messed up things this dude is doing in high school or college if he's even in school.
