The individual old Bond Blu-Ray movies are so much better than the lame three packs. With the three packs you get no booklets. Just some cardboardy Chinese-import-bootleg looking box with the three discs inside. If you buy them seperately you will at least get a nice box. I know it doesn't sound like much, but if you saw how cheap and lame these three packs were, you'd want your money back. Trust me.

Also note: Your 'free money' to go see Quantum of Solace isn't inside the boxes of any of the movies. Rather it's on a sticker that's on the front of the shrink wrap. Not only is that lame enough, it's actually on the back of the sticker with no directions telling you to look there (which would be a place you would never think to look for it). And it's not anything big. It's a tiny sticker with a code that you go online to redeem them and print them out with. CHEESY.
I got to believe there are many folks out there who have (or are about to) toss away their movie money (assumng that it would be inside the actual movies' box (which would be a perfect assumption) just to find out when they open the actual movie that they threw away their movie money with the shrink wrap.

I actually though the box was cool but I was surpprised to see that it did not have the blue blu-ray cassettes.

Well, because of this thread I decided to create a news post with good quality images of the box set.

Read it here

the sets are lame because you can't put the movies in chronological order after all are released.

the sticker sticks to the slipcover which in the process damages the code. BTW, since the sticker is stuck to the slipcover, the ink on the back side of the sticker is imprinted on the slipcover. Good luck getting the movie code. What a flimsy way to dupe people for a free move ticket.

I opened mine the other night while watching Mad Men. If you must make a "cardboard" analogy, fine. However, it is heavy duty cardboard, far heavier and thicker than normal slipcases. In fact, I think it's on par with the packaging for the Ultimate Edition sets.

Point #1: It's the same setup Sony used with the Hancock tickets on Will Smith movies over the summer.

Point #2: I have my three stickers in front of me right now. They read: "Up to $10.50 ticket value each at Participating Cinemas. Expires 12/31/08. While Supplies Last. Details on Reverse." Emphasis mine. So I fail to see the problem, unless people simply can't read.

It's a pretty bad assumption, considering the info the consumer needs to know is written on the front of the sticker. Is the company responsible for idiot consumers? Nope.

Jason --

There is no issue with the steelbook version as the plastic wrapping is transparent and you don't have to peel off the sticker to see the code. However, it is an issue with the slipcover as the sticker gets damaged in the process. As a consumer I should have to struggle to remove a simple sticker.

^ Actually, I thought about that AFTER I posted. I got the BD versions and had no trouble (obviously) thanks to the plastic.

However, I had a world of issues with the Hancock ticket on Men in Black, which I had forgotten about also. However, all it took was a very polite e-mail to the customer service folks and they got me hooked up with a code that worked. I know, it's a bit of a hassle for a movie ticket (not good at AMC's, btw), but there are workarounds.

Jason, think THEN speak

Jason,

Do you by chance have MGM's customer # handy?

It's actually an outside company that handles these, I think. On the bottom of the page (QoS Movie Cash, there's a "questions" e-mail addy and phone number (tpgcustomer@tpgny.com, 1-800-290-0816).

Jason, helpful
