Well boys and girls, thanks to this site, I approached the platform yesterday and took the plunge. After reading about the Amazon deal, I purchased the Sylvania Blu Player and four movies. My total price out the virtual door was 195 and some change and this is with three day shipping (estimated arrival at my house is Saturday). I figured, that is as close to a Black Friday deal as I can get. I want to thank all of you who gave me all the information that I requested on my quest to go Blu. And oh yea, my wife thanks you also. So now I have my A2 sitting there, with 26 HD DVD's, waiting to be replaced.

I never thought I would be going Blu.......................

No Spoon, for example, I did not pick Batman Returns as one of my 4 movies. I picked 4 Blu movies that I do not even own on SD DVD. I am still going to use my A2, I am just trying to figure out where I am going to place my Blu player.

Biker, just stack your blu player on top of your A2. That way if you have take the HDMI cable out of one and put it in the other it's easier.

Unless there's another issue?

I have an HDMI switchbox due to my TV only haveing 2(!) HDMI ports and me having an Xbox 360, PS3, HD Cable Box, and an HD A-35 player.

Wow, this deal is better than some of the old deals where you had to mail away some form and wait like 3 months to get your free movies. So you get a player and 4 decent flicks for around $175-$200! Very tempting, could use a 2nd player instead of my PS3.

Yea steveo, I payed out the door 195 and some change. Like I said, I don't think you will even see any Black Friday deals like that. And that was my plan, to stack the Blu player on top of my A2. The only thing that concerns me is any heat build up

Falcon, should I use my optical output for the sound, since I do not have a receiver that is HDMI?

I have my A-35 hooked up with both the optical for sound as well as the analogue, so I can choose to use either. My Pana BDP30 is through analogue only and both run through a switch box. The optical on the A35 works well as I am certain it will on your new player.
