I've noticed that most physical stores sell them at premium(about $30). Recently however, Amazon has been selling for about $26 for new videos. After a week to two weeks, they have been dropping to $23.95. Now, this kind of pricing is realistic when you include three discs as some have lately. The dvd counterparts with extra disc are not much cheaper. Now, when they hit the $20 mark for a new disc we will be right on target for a new format.

Physical retailers are always gonna sell at or above MSRP. Which right now is $29.99 I believe for MOST Blu-Rays. So, they aren't gonna get cheaper for a long time. The internets however allow us people as a whole to connect and buy/sell/trade as we will without physical retailers so the onlines will always be a cheaper method of purchasing goods.

Exactly Spoonard, as you say nothing new about lower prices online. However, the prices online are getting even lower and plus no tax.

We here in Washington State are getting hit with a new tax law that forces online retailers to collect tax even on out of state purchases. I only hope this doesn't catch on across the country.

Check some of Amazon's secondary sellers, who are offering new BDs for $20 and under. Here's an example with "Dr. No": http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B001AQO3U6/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Then there are the used copies, usually always in great shape, with a return policy, and half the price of new.
