YAY!!! According to Variety and About.com, Singer has signed with WB to direct the sequel to Superman Returns!!!

That's great news for all of us Superman and Superman Returns fans...now, he will be able to go all "Wrath of Khan" with Superman...

I do not think they can meet the 2009 release that Variety talks about, but 2010 would be good...

I'm one of the few that thought Superman Returns was a decent start to a new series of Superman movies. I really like Brandon Routh more than I thought as Superman/Clarke Kent so hopefully they bring him back.

This one better "bring it" as the kids say and hopefully there is no more Lex Luthor.

I'm with you Falcon... as far as thinking that Superman Returns was decent. I actually enjoyed it.

As I have said before, I LOVE Superman. I could go on a hour long tirade about how he's everything a hero should be and all that. But I won't. I'll leave it at this: I thought Superman Returns was VERY good. Superman was portrayed very well I thought. One aspect of him anyway. (If you want an elaboration, just ask.) I loved the movie and I have to say the idea of Bryan Singer directing the next one is one of the best bits of movie news I have heard all week.

I heard they cast Rosie O'Donnell as Doomsday.

I wish WB had signed Singer at the same time they did Nolan a couple of years ago after Batman Begins and Superman Returns were released, then we would've had two DC properties fighting each other (in a really healthy way)...

However, this also comes with the news of Nolan starting work on Batman 3...does this mean collaboration between Wayne and Kent later on??

A Batman/Superman movie would have to be more than one movie. I say that about every comic book movie though. i just want there to be enough time for the proper amount of story that needs to be told. That's all.

I like Singer but I think Superman Returns was an atrocious movie I sat through 2+ hours to watch a director waste 250 million dollars working out his issues about being adopted. I guess WB likes throwing money away since this barely made back what it cost to produce. I guess they're just going to rely on the Batman movies to make there money.

I did (and still) believe that trying to make it a sort of sequel to the Donnor Movies was a mistake. Those movies should have been left on there own and the new movie should have cut it's own path. The Superman of the Donnor movies comes from a certain era and I would've preferred Singer to have taken his cues from a post 1986 Superman.

Alright, I'm jazzed. Another fan of SR and really anything Singer does. About time Warner and DC got off their hands and started making this thing happen.

Jason, up, up and away!

I think that SR is one of the most visually appealing, and beautifully shot movies in the past few years, it is just nice to look at it.

But really, the main title sequence with Williams' score, and the flight through space/planets, has yet to be matched by any movie, is just something wonderful...
