This is an amazing historic day. Regardless of your political persuasion, this has been one of the most significant elections in the history of the United States, if not the world. The fact that an African-American has been elected President of the United States is a truly remarkable event.

Here's to the transformation of the United States from being an arrogant corporate sponsored bully to becoming a force for change and transformation across the globe. The rest of the world welcomes you with open arms.

God bless America.

Congratulations President Elect Barack Obama and good luck. It is a truly remarkable event when you consider that the civil rights movement was a mere 40 years ago.

From what I am hearing now is that President Obama is going to direct the Treasury to buy the 155 Circuit City stores . Lets revive the economy.

Well done.

rangooth,

as some conservatives suggested when dubya won in 2000 and 2004, you can always leave the country if you don't like the election results.

Hope has been restored, in my personal opinion. Not just for the country as a whole or African American people, but for people of any stripe. Knowing that a short time ago blacks couldn't vote and had no rights and then seeing a black man become president last night was phenomenal. Obama gave hope to every single person that no matter what kind of hardship we face, no matter how badly the cards are stacked against you, things change. Sometimes slower and with more pain than we want, but they change.

To be honest, during his victory speech last night, I did cry. Know why? Cuz in a country that largely tells me I'm not good enough as a person (seen again in Arizona, Arkansas and Florida), I have someone who shows the way, telling me yes we can. Now it's time to roll our sleeves up and do something as a whole.

Jason, yes we can

Congrats Obama, remarkable election day...but the best thing is that it is ALL OVER, THANKFULLY. I'm surprised that Obama had seven million MORE votes than McCain, that's truly surprising and great for him.

I do still believe that the Obama's race is half black half white, and that his culture is white...so there will be a big * for me everytime people say "the first black president", truly lies...

Again, congrats, and let's hope that now that he has (and will have) the support from most Americans, he can accomplish things and fix things that have been neglected before. One can only hope.
