Great review, but I disagree that Bruce is the "one and only reason why Bubba Ho-Tep succeeds." Bruce definitely was the anchor holding that film together, but Ossie Davis did a fine job, too. Then there's the script, which is practically word for word to Lansdale's short story, so Coscarelli also played an important role into making Bubba Ho-Tep into the amazing piece of cinema it is.

I'm a Lansdale fan, but I think the story and the script were pretty weak. Davis was good, but he wasn't good enough on his own to save the film from its script and its director. It was the force of nature that is Bruce Campbell that makes it sing. I can't think of anyone else who would work in that role except maybe a 40-ish Shatner.

Sadly, Bruce will not be reprising the role of Elvis for the sequel, "Bubba Nosferatu."

Apparently, Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman, will take over as the King.
