Did everyone get their update? I did this morning when I got up for work at 4am. The whole download and install process took less than 3 minutes. I do have a wicked fast Comcast connection though that averages a full megabyte per second (That's 7 megabits to most people.) I only got a chance to mess around for about 10 minutes with it before my carpool showed up though. I got to make a rough approximation of myself with the new avatar dealy-bob and then go through the new channel system and look at some of the options. I'm gonna go through it all with a bit more detail tonight when I get home. But from the quick glimpse that I got, I was VERY impressed. The one thing I thought about the PS3 over the Xbox 360 was that the MUCH higher resolution UI layout was so much easier to look at than the standard Xbox Live! menu system. But now I think I like the Xbox UI more. But like I said, i'll take a more in depth look this evening. Happy updating all!

You get up really early for work. I was on time for work today for the first time in months, (8am).

Whoever has used it, tell us more about it, I have to wait 6 more hours to try it as I'm at work too.

First impressions are that it looks good.

You tend to use the main UI to browse your XBOX and the marketplace when you have time and wants to be inspired and find new demos, videos etc. Everything looks nice and much more clean.

However, the "new guide menu" will act as your quick way to access everything. Much faster than the old blade menu.

One of the real cool features is that you can install an entire game on your hard drive. It took 8-10 min. to install Fallout 3. It sure speeds things up and I'm sure I'll install my top 5 most played games.

Sounds like I need to get a bigger hard drive for my xbox because I'd love to install games on the hard drive.

Yes, games sure can take up some space.

Another really awesome feature is that you put things in your download queue from your computer using your browser. When you come home and start up your XBOX it will start downloading.

However, it seems their servers are experiencing some hard times. It can't always retrieve information from XBOX live.

It's not perfect, but A MUCH BETTER IMPROVEMENT from the last... "experience."
Some pages are still getting errors, probably due to ongoing upgrades. Overall, VERY SATISFIED with the way the GRAPHICALLY organized the categories.

I'm curious to see how they expand your avatar "action figure" on the network community. I'm sure it goes without saying, that A LOT of the end result were influenced by PS3's HOME (which, by the way, still hasn't arrived), & the 'cuteness' from the Wii "action figures".

BTW: Did NE1 else get an error, when they tried to download the demo game of LEFT 4 DEAD?

I got the update at 5am. I figured it would take longer to download if I waited in the middle of the day. I have to say I'm quite impressed.

No error here. But I downloaded the demo maybe a week or so ago, not during one of the seaonal updates. That's most likely what caused your error, overloaded servers trying desperately to serve EVERY Xbox 360 that was online at the time.
