My Parents bought a 37" 720p Sharp Aquios lcd for about $799. I told them to get that over an RCA 40" something or other. Does anyone here own a Sharp Aquios 37 720p? Any issues with it?

My brother has one and he has zero issues with it. Mind you he only uses it for TV in the bedroom.

They are just interested in watching tv and the occasional movie. They are just getting into HDTV. I think it will be fine for them.

Man Iron Bull, they could've gotten a 42" 720p Panny Plaz for $728 from AMAZON. More TV less money.

You also have to consider that plasmas use more power plus the image tends to wash out when there's a lot of light in the room. A friend of mine is passing on a nice deal for a 42" plasma for this very same reason as he will be using it in his living room.

Regardless, you should be very happy with this 37" Sharp.

My brother bought a newer 37" model about 6 months ago from Best Buy and since then has nothing but issue with overall picture quality. He was orig on cabling thinking that was the issue. Then he switched to Telus TV, and the picture got marginally better. So I convinced him to go HDTV with Telus, and He still was not happy. Eventually after doing some more research on the tv. The TV doesn't possess the ability to process MPEG noise. It has DNR filters, but nothing for MPEG noise reduction, which 60% of noise is orginated from your service provider, unless you are on fios. Anyways long story short DVD, and BD looked good, but service provision look like shit. Go buy a better TV isf you are not satisfied.

BTW side note. I work for a service provider. The brand new line of Sharps have an issue with HDMI sync chips. Audio pops and distortions have been reported through SPER. The Samsungs IR sensors do not respond that well with harmonys. You have to increase their delay times... Have fun... Or you could turn off the eco friendly or power saving options...

I know but we live in Canada and Amazon always says "That item is not available for delivery to Canada"

Yeah amazon.com gives us Canadians the SHAFT. They only seem to deliver DVD's to Canada (there may be other things also) but not electronics so we miss out on those great sales.

Amazon.ca blows.
