Well, Sharp just kicked Sony in the balls with this:

Well Sharp still has "banding" issues with it's LCD's, even the newer ones so they have to do something to get back consumer confidence.

Also these new Aquos sound like they are going to be premium priced (Sony also has premium TV's) so I hardly think they are kicking Sony in the teeth with this new line. Unless of course they're cheaper than Sony's XBR series of TV's and produce equal or better image?

Don't get me wrong, I love Sharp Aquos TV's and if you can get one WITHOUT the "banding" issues you are getting a great TV but you're basically rolling the dice which should not be the case with such a name brand.

I'll stick with either DLP or Plasma or industrial CRT

LCD is a great way to work on a spreadsheet, but a lousy way to treat video of any kind...let alone HiDef
