Just a heads up!

If you can't make the $128 in-store offer on a Blu-ray player from Wal-mart today. Amazon.com has the same player (Funai Clone - Under their brand Sylvania) for $179 right now. They also have the highly recommendable Panasonic DMP-BD35K for $231.

If the PS3 is your thing check this "Wall-E" Bundle offer. Or perhaps this "Resistance 2" bundle offer.

I guess the Transformers ($9.99) and Iron Man ($14.99) are sold out or something because I don't see them on the Black Friday list.

Hey Falcon... yeah, I could not locate it for you in a search just now.

Yesterday, after I discovered it on sale ($9.99 BD), I ordered "Transformers" along with the new BD of Hall & Oates: Live at the Troubadour [Blu-ray] » ($18.99), so as to get the FREE shipping (orders over $25). So, as you said, it's probably sold out by now.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to by chance have logged in to Amazon around 6:00 A.M., and discovered sale-priced $9.99 BDs of "Dr. No", "Crank", and a few others and immediately ordered them, and made a note here on the board. Later I checked and Amazon had raised the price to $17.99.

Many of us weren't lucky to get any of those deals...BB has Transformers on blu for $9.99 til tomorrow...but since I have the HD DVD, I'll wait for the inevitable double-dip with the 'extended IMAX' version...

Some red deals are to be had here in Canada at futureshop. I saw Sharp Blu-Ray players for $169.99 (profile 1.0) and its 1.1 brother going for $219.99 in stores. Also the Insignia's were $179.99 and the Panasonic BD30 is going for $229. No sales on Movies however. I bought, terminator 2 and terminator on BD this morning from amazon for $11.99 each.

mvckalel... I've got the HD-DVD of "Transformers" too ($15 last December during a sale at Best Buy), but I couldn't pass up a $10 Blu-ray edition too, now that I have friends with BD players and we often loan out discs. $10 is a great price, and I would love to find other titles for such a price than the few in today's Black Friday sales (mainly from Paramount and Warner, who has several $10.95 to $11.95 BDs).

Today, after writing my last post above, I -did- find the BD of "Transformers" again on Amazon (but not in their BF section) - first it was $19.99, and now it's $22.95(!), and is the #1 seller last I checked (no doubt adding in everyone who was able to get it for $9.99 since yesterday, when the site first lowered it).

As for discounted players, I got an email from Overstock.com today, and they have the Memorex BD player (made by Funai too?), for $169.95 - VIEW HERE (but I didn't check to see if they offer FREE shipping, like Amazon does - EDIT: Overstock does offer free shipping during their BF sale, as I just double-checked).

I still expect further price drops of movie discs from the studios, as they would like to get as much holiday cash between now and Dec 25. ...so just keep waiting and monitoring prices, and perhaps we will see some great deals.

FYI: if anyone's interested, that great new deluxe 5-film Blu-ray box set of Planet of the Apes (Film Collections) [40-Year Evolution Blu-ray Collection] [Blu-ray] » is only $69.99 at Amazon at the moment (retails for $140, so that's a good deal).
