Any suggestions on what Classical music CDs to buy? Or a concert DVD that sounds great? lol

Right now I'm thinking Bach...

Where's John? John knows everything about classical music. He's a walking encyclopedia of classical music!

mvckalel,

Just one CD? Who's it for? Is it just for easy listening, background music, or for serious sit-down-in-front-of-the-speakers listening? Any particular composer? Any favorite orchestras, conductors, or record labels? Is the CD for a beginner or a veteran classical-music listener?

If you'd like to send me an e-mail, I can send you a list I published recently in the $ensible Sound magazine called the "The Basic Classical Collection on Compact Disc." (I've served as the magazine's Classical Music Editor for the past thirty-three years.)

What do you like so far?
OR
Listen to the classical music station for a while,
and then what kind do you like, which composers?

You could check out my cousin's music. He is very talented. Here is a link to his web site that has samples of his music.

You may not have heard of him but most of you have heard music he has written.

If you're interested in technology, check out this short 3-minute doc about a classical pianist who uses Yamaha's Disklavier for her teaching. It's pretty cool.
