Personally, I don't think this is a spin from Sony as they are fearing upscalers will replace Blu-ray. I think it's a spin from the studio because they know that there are still plenty of consumers with non-HD capable TVs that haven't made the jump in tough times. If Sony is also getting into the upscale market, then of course they are going to be saying good things about it. That doesn't mean it's better, though. Or even comparable.

View profile »i haven't watched a sddvd in months on the bigscreen, and THAT literally kills me because i own a ton of them. however, it kills me more when i see my daughter watching "finding nemo" on the bigscreen and i'm like..."wouldn't you rather watch this instead!" (now holding up a copy of "wanted" on the glorious br.) "it SURE looks and sounds better!"

View profile »..so with this being confirmed, and a freakin terabyte disc on the way...(sorry, i just choked on my water.)..how long until 1080 goes bye bye, and 4k becomes the new HD standard?
