Look, Chris--if you want her, then you have to win her fair and square. No telling me to stay away. :p

She sounds like a complete lunatic, Eddie. You shouldn't see her anymore. Next thing you know she'll be boiling your pet cat.

Opening days can be nice.
Star Wars 3 (6). The theater was so crowded that it was like a victory just to get in your seat. That's the only time there was [a LOT] of cheering. There was a bunch for the newly instituted "no smoking" rule, for the refreshment ads, and you could hear cheering a few times from other screens, despite not ever being able to hear the movie (from the other screens).

I saw the new "Alfie" with someone who hated the idea of sitting anywhere near other people. She wanted to move every time someone sat down behind or next to us. We wound up sitting in the third row, lol.

I know that this example will be the opposite of what mra has established here. But I do have to say that I love going to the Star Wars movies 1st showing on opening day. I've said this before in another thread, but it's a very cool thing to hear a sold out theater erupt in unison as soon as the "20th Century Fox", "Lucasfilm Ltd." logos, and then the orchestra strike when "Star Wars" flashes on screen! It's hard to explain. It's just a really cool experience. The whole theater yells at the top of thier lungs, and then we all settle into the film. Unfortunately, I don't see any film in the future (after episode III that is) eliciting that kind of response from an audience. :(

I probably see two or three movies a week nearly every week in the theatre and I really can't think of a particularly bad movie-going experience (aside from the awful films themselves, that is.) The secret, of course: never ever ever go on a Friday or Saturday after 3 PM. Don't go opening week. If at all possible, go during the afternoon on a weekday. It's ideal. You get whatever seat you want and if there are other people in the theater, they're mostly older folks who don't make trouble except when they leave five times to go to the bathroom.
Sure, you might have to quit work but are you a committed film lover or not? Well, are ya, punk?

Oddly enough, we're coming up on the anniversary of a rather awful movie going experience for me. Thanksgiving evening 2000. My cousins and I decided to go see "Unbreakable". The wait in line was insane (being that it was Thanksgiving day), however, we did get into the movie. We wound up sitting in the nose bleed section, and everything was fine for about the first 15 minutes of the movie. No babies, no kids, no cell phone/pager morons... nothing! However prior to the movie starting we could tell by the rather nauseating smell of alcohol that someone had been celebrating quite heavily. Around the 15 minute mark of the film, my cousin (3 seats down from me) suddenly shreaked, as the person wreaking of alcohol projectile-vomited his Thanksgiving dinner down my cousin's back. The sound alone was enough to make you jump out of the way, as if a freight train were heading towards you! Most of the people that were within earshot, got the heck out of Dodge almost instantly. But then... the smell hit, and the top half of the theater left. And to make matters worse, there were a few "sympathetic pukers". Not to mention my cousin! He was ever so slightly mortified. To this day when I mention "Unbreakable" to him, he get's the willies! That's probably the worst experience to date for me.

The movie is BAD, big time.
I mean I have seen many bad films in my life, but this one is maybe the worst one.
I couldn’t realised why they have placed it on dvd?- It is so bad.:D

Bad movies I've seen in the theaters: Johnny Mnemonic, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Judge Dredd, and of course Batman & Robin.
Bad experiences? Not really bad, but somewhat strange and amusing. I went to see the Star Wars: Special Edition back in '97 and the guys at the end of the row I sat in started downing beers. They passed out by the time the X-Wings made their Death Star run and when the movie was over, I had to step over them to get out.
