Has anyone played the new EA demo of DEAD SPACE, If a video game demo is supposed to be the introduction to an experience that will make you go buy the game than this misses the mark. If anyone has downloaded this for PS3 or XBOX 360, what was your impression.

Thanks for saving me the torment of downloading this. Lately, I haven't had the time to even watch half a movie.

Hey, I have a question for you PS3 owners, if I get a PS3 will it upconvert my PS2 games to look better? I have a PS2, but most of my games look like they were filtered through a screen of sh*t! I'm seriously considering getting a small SDTV just for the PS2 and just so my games will look good once again (I know, if I'm going to spend a few hundered dollars on a standard TV just for the PS2, then I might as well use the few hundered dollars to just get a PS3). However, if I got a PS3, will it make my PS2 games look better on my 50" plasma? I tried some work arounds last night with no luck since my PS2 provides no S-Video, no progrssive scan video and only has your standard sh*tty video/audio jacks. If someone can give me some insight on this I might consider getting a PS3 just to solve the issue. As you can see, I like my game consoles for playing games and not movies.

Thanks for any advice, it will be greatly appreciated.

Tim,

I don't think ANY of the new PS3's are BC with PS2 games.

I did play some of my old PS1 games on the PS3 and they all looked like shit.

If you're just going to buy the PS3 for games (PS2) save your money and don't.

360 is WAY better anyway, but that's a different topic.

Timmy Tim Tim tim.

The last PS3 that supported Backwards Compatibility was the 80 Gig PS3 that had MGS4 bundled in with it. That went on sale June of this year... probably out of stock now.

Give it a try again, wolvinator.

IGN rated it an 8.7. That's a great rating. I am going to play it this weekend if I find the time.

Tim, the 60GB and the original 80GB PS3's were backwards compatible with most PS2 games but I don't know if they are still beig made.

If you want to make your PS2 games look the best possible you can buy a component cable (red, green, blue) instead of using the composite one it comes with (yellow for video and then red and white for audio). The games will look A LOT better on your plasma but don't expect them to look like PS3 games.

Then you just run an optical cable from the PS2 to your receiver for the audio. This is probably the cheapest and best way to enjoy your PS2 games on your 50" Panny.

Tim, alot of things look better when the PS3 and a 1080p TV are connected but PS2 games are not one of them. If you played PS2 on a tube television than don't expect much more improvement than that.

The best PS3 unit IMO to get is a 60gig b/c model. You can still get one new but expect to pay an arm and a leg, they are the most saught after because they use actual hardware to emulate PS2 games. But 80gig b/c units are good as well, the only thing is that make sure your 80 gig is truely b/c,
