View profile »the drive went bad, maybe too many burned movies and scratched ps2 games?... when it went in for support, sony sent back a refurb unit that wasent backwards compatible. so good luck with that.

2.) PS2 games look shitty in 1080p because that's not their native resolution, that would be 480i. You are seeeing them when they are horribly stretched out. Set your TV to display them in their native resolution and sit a bit closer to the TV.
3.) Suck it up and go buy a PS3. Pick up Little Big Planet, Lair, and Heavenly Sword. It's not just about better graphics, it's about evolving gameplay. Also go buy a Wii also if you haven't already, but make sure you stick to 1st party developed games. They are the only ones worth playing.
4.) Most importantly, realize that the PS3 isn't a game console that plays Blu-Ray movies. It's a Blu-Ray player that happens to play video games.
