Finally PS HOME to be released tomorrow. Hopefully the new online service will be much better than the PS Network and lure in more on-line gamers like XBOX-Live. It is an open BETA so it might still need a little more work. I just want to say thank you Microsoft because if you didn't drop the price of your XBOX 360 this would've never happened.

It's not REALLY being released tomorrow... Sony has just decided the beta process was going too slow with the limited user base they had with it in closed bet. So they decided to open it to everyone. It's going into open beta tomorrow. Technically that's not a release but who's playing semantics? It's a 3.2GB download though. I'm not that interested in it, but i'll get it just to mess with it I suppose. Maybe it will be awesome... but I doubt it.

I've been playing around with it since earlyish november... it's... it's entertaining at times.

This sums it up well enough I think. I downloaded it last night and goofed off with it for a bit. Turns out it's not a 3.07GB download, but it needs to RESERVE that much space on the HDD. The initial download is only 77MB and it downloads other stuff like the Bowling Alley and the Mall seperately if you choose to. That's kinda cool I guess. But overall I was QUITE underwhelmed at what I saw. It's a chat room for all intents and purposes. That's all it is.

Now... I've been in the closed Beta for a month... and... the Central Plaza... used to be pretty freakin' boring. Not only in the fact that there was nothing to do but also it was just visually boring. So when I logged on yesterday and redownloaded the plaza I was amazed to see they changed it. It looks a whole lot better... best of al it appears to be smaller... if not then they are certainly using their space.
