ive had issues with samsung and hdmi before, i had one of there theather all in one packages and the hdmi wouldn't work on my sony projection lcd tv,the picture would jump all around the screen, i tryed 2 units and gave up. but maybe ur new tv has faulty hdmi input, or the cable is bad.

it could also be that you haven't set the video to go out through the HDMI cable. Maybe you still have it set to Component video out?

i tried all those, and i used another dvd, and it worked, someone i work with said that the dark knight was filmed differently, (maybe he said using an IMAX system), and he heard of other playing problems. any input?

How the filmmakers originally shot the movie is immaterial to how it's transferred to disc and whether it will play back or not. I had no problems with "The Dark Knight" standard-def using a Toshiba player or the Blu-ray using a Panasonic player, both using HDMI cables to my audio receiver and an HDMI cable out from the receiver to the TV.

You don't say how you hooked your player up using an HDMI cable. Was it directly from the player to the TV, using the TV's speakers, or was it into a receiver and out to the TV? In the latter case, you need to assign the HDMI input and output within the receiver (use the receiver's built-in menu). If you're going directly into the TV and not getting any picture, it's anybody's guess what's wrong, especially if other DVDs are working but not this one. I doubt the disc is at fault here. Are you sure you're not trying to play a Blu-ray disc in a standard-def player?
