Proving "opinions are like a$$holes". Here are 3 examples that list Blu-ray among the top 5 tech gifts to buy this Christmas:

Also, Blu-ray makes it to the 2008 Fox News Business "12 Days of Christmas" List:

"Most people just won't notice a significant difference between Blu-ray and upsampled DVD," said Avi Greengart of Current Analysis. "They don't have a big enough TV, or they sit too far back, or they have poor eyesight."

Or they simply don't care. This is unfortunately true with just about everybody I know. I (we) can appreciate the difference but they can't. Add in BD Live and Digital Copy which is going to flop with the general public, the economy and the still high price points for media, and that leaves you with a product that will have a tough time in the mainstream. Not good.

My favorite quote from this article:

Quote:
There's a very loud and vocal minority that insists that Blu-ray will be a huge success.

Loud indeed. Skyhawk? Tony? You guys have anything to say about this (i'm sure you do!) lol

OK I must chime in on this one and maybe I should have started my own thread on this one but I won't. I will be short and sweet, the GPS as one of the best Tech products give me a break. This is just another sign of what I like to call the Lazy Generation. I am sorry if some people might find my comments offensive but it is the truth. What ever happened to a good old fashioned Rand McNally. But like I said, todays generation wants everyone or everything to do it for them. The GPS is just another distraction for some people while they operate a motor vehicle. Ok lets see these are the same people who are trying to text on their cell phone while they are traveling at 70 miles per hour down the highway. Even with todays technology (IE The Home Computer) you can jump on line before you take a trip and map out your location. Some people might say well waht about a portable GPS, so we can keep track of our children? Here's an idea for that, try paying attention to your kids when you are out and stop using your local shopping mall as a giant babysitter. The best, no way, the worst yes way or maybe this is one of the seven signs that end is near? LOL

But hey it is just my opinion!!!!! Happy Holidays

Well When there was a huge accident on the interstate last night my gps found me a way around it saving me about an hour I wouldn't have figured that out on my own

Probably safer to glance at a screen that is telling you exactly where to go rather than fumbling with a huge foldable map looking at tiny intersecting lines at night time. That's just me though. I save the texting for when it's necessary and the movie watching for my home theatre or movie theatre. The only thing I can be blamed for while driving is picking my nose.

GPS' rule!

My $.02

OK Taco that I guess is legitimate, but seriously people buy these things because of why, not to find a detour around an accident. Bottom line, and don not take this the wrong way because I repsect you and your opinion on here, but people are lazy. And I am not saying to ride down the highway with a map in your face, it's called a little preplanning. I work on the road alot, seriously, and I do not own one and never will. I either pre plan with a trip tic, or I have learned many of the routes I take. Hell some people use them to go to their local grocery store, ok that was a joke, but you catch my drift. To say they are one of the best tech gadgets, not by a far stretch.

By the way Taco, you don't a clapper by any chance? LOL

You guys are all wrong! The best techno product of the year goes to the Flavor Wave Oven! I mean, come on guys, a blu-ray player or a 7.1 sound system can not cook a steak from frozen to finished in just 20-minutes!

Lol, were people that say this stuff around when the wheel was invented? How is it lazy to not use a map?
