So what if Killzone 2 is up to show its guns (and hype) by February '09 to (maybe) spur the sales of the PS3... it won't. If the PS3 retail price remains the same, ANY top gun games it releases will be a DUD! See sales figures for Resistance 2- it didn't even make HALF the sales figures of Gears of War 2.
Wake up, Sony! It's the recession, LOWER THE DAMN PRICE OF THE PS3 CONSOLE! When you do consider lowering the cost, don't dilly-dally with a so-called "bundle deal" of 1-game-per console for $400, or a 160gb console version for $399... it won't work. PEOPLE WANT LOWER COST PS3.
PERIOD.

"Sony's strategy of selling a pricey game machine with advanced features and cutting-edge components appears to be backfiring as a deepening recession has U.S. consumers more price sensitive than ever."

"Part of Sony's strategy hinged on selling the PS3 as a relatively inexpensive Blu-ray player. But prices of Blu-ray players have fallen so sharply recently -- new players are available for less than $200 -- that it's possible to buy a Blu-ray player and an Xbox 360 for less than a PS3. "

I just picked up a Blu-Ray player on Boxing day for $99, and XBOX 360 Pro consoles are going for $239.99 Plus two games, and a controller at most reatilers here in Canada. It is possible to under cut the PS3!

They will be in trouble here in Canada.
