SantaMan,

No offense, but the topic you started is basically another "Beating a Dead Horse" thread. We've discussed this topic more times than I care to iterate. If you take the time to go through the hi-def-talk threads, you'll find all kinds of chat on this topic (it might be easier to just add comments to the ones that interest you). However, please feel free to talk about anything you like around here. The message boards are here for more than just tech savvy talk. We all love to chat about all kinds of topics here, it just that "will DVD survive" and "will Blu-ray survive" or "the PS3 is a golden god" has gotten so old that it makes a retirement home look like a house full of kids.

I don't mean to discourage you from bringing up topics to talk about, and we all warmly welcome new people to the message boards here. So, please understand we all want to get along and be friends, but it's just that this topic has wore out its welcome long ago -- well, not that long ago. lol

Again, I apologize if what I just said may have offended you in any way and I hope you stick around because it's always nice to have fresh insight from somebody new.

Happy New Year!

Tim

Tim, thanks for the reply but that is the reason I started the post with "Follow on" just so people will know this is a little more information that's all. You are correct though, I was pounding the hell out of that dead horse and I will stop now..thanks.

SantaMan, posting any articles or subjects even remotely positive about the Blu-ray format is not encouraged here.

Beating a dead horse is fine here provided you post something negative about Blu-ray or anything remotely related to it. You don't even have to back up your negative statements with a source - simply making it up seems perfectly acceptable.

Giving your future threads titles like "Will Blu-ray survive 2009?" or "Blu-ray - the Dying Format" will ensure that Tim Raynor and others will not get on your back again.

Skyhawk, I can't speak for everyone that posts here but I think it's safe to say that everyone here likes what high definition (bluray, satelite, etc) offers. Not only is the picture quality superior to anything else currently available but the sound (bluray - Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD/MA) is outstanding.

I don't know why you keep twisting things around when for the most part people here want disc media (bluray) to survive or at least co-exist with downloads.

Now if you want to talk about Sony, that's a whole different ball game.

Falcon01, why don't you provide a link or two to some of your posts that contain references to positive articles of the Blu-ray format and/or contain only your favorable comments towards it?

I wont call you a hypocrite if I see some.

Santaman, as you can see hypocrites here like Falcon01 have confirmed the extreme bias that fills this messageboard. Posters like Falcon01 will say how wrong I am about the bias here and that he supports Blu-ray and wants it to succeed, yet has only negative things to say about it. The truth is that this former hddvd.org site is still filled with HD DVD fanboy cry babies who still grieve over the loss of their beloved format. And it shows.

As I said, avoiding anything positive about the Blu-ray format as well as never correcting even the most outlandish anti-Blu-ray related statements will ensure you get along. Else, the moderators will make an exception and allow direct insults, trolling, and even slanderous attacks against you. Frankly, I'm tired of the biased bullshit. It's time a lot of posters here just got the hell over their loss, let go of their hate, and got on with their lives.
