LOL. You're harsh. I do hope that ol' Bay makes a better effort this time. I didn't mind the first Transformers but I hope for a much better part 2.

Well, I didn't even make it past 40 minutes of the first movie before I walked. Nevertheless, if #2 picks up some good buzz, I'll give it a shot. It's kind of my own little rule in life to give anyone enough rope to hang themselves with.

Transformers is the third best popcorn movie ever...after Raiders of the Lost Ark and Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest... ...more than likely, this will be alike...

I love TRANSFORMERS! Michael Bay rocks! TRANSFORMERS 2 will rock! Don't see it Tim. I wouldn't want you to suffer through it. I read rumors on the net that another hotty maybe added to the cast (Natassia Malthe). Must not be a big part because she isn't on the imdb list of characters in the movie.

Well, it isn't as if I don't like popcorn entertainment. There are lots of guilty pleasure films I like, and the thing with any movie is it either does it for you or it doesn't. Overall, film is always a personal experience no matter how you cut it. I loved "Ultraviolet" but most critics hated it, and that movie was all stylish, popcorn-cornball entertainment that, IMO, was a total blast. For the life of me, I can't figure out why I would like one corny movie but not enjoy another. Go figure?

I think the thing is with "Transformers" is it represents a time in which I found the whole idea and cartoon too stupid for me. When the real franchise was launched back in the early 80s I was a teenager and the only interest I had was being cool around my friends and chasing girls. Therefore, Transformers seemed "uncool" to me, as I saw it as something little boys were into. So, when the movie came out the previous year, it seemed to rekindle those feelings I had as a teenager and I couldn't even bother to give it a chance. It's almost as if I'm supposed to hate it as if it were some kind of instinct. Plus, most people bash Michael Bay trash, so I don't want to be uncool by defending his work.
