I purchased the extended edition of Return of the King today. THinking finally i can watch the movie again. sadly i was mistaken. After seeing the movie in theaters i vowed never to watch the movie again untill the special extended edition came out. Why you ask? well its very simple, because peter jackson is a god damn moron and screwed the ending of the movie. The ending of the movie is with souromon dieing in the battle for the shire. Mr. Jackson obviously didn't think it was that important. well he was wrong. THe start of the movie is a hobbit, so what should you do at the end of the story, oh i don't know, mabey have all the hobbits stand up for themselfs and take back whats theirs. but no, and worst off, peter jackson said after the realease of the return of the king in theaters that special extended edition was going to have the battle for the shire. If he just took the extra god damn time to do the battle for the shire the movie would have what is truly essential to the god damn storyline. It is how the fellowship changed the hobbits for the better. But no, peter jackson is obviously too stupid to understand that. (THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED BY THE WEBMASTER TO REMOVE FOUL LANGUAGE)

Actually, Peter Jackson has quietly expressed his negative feelings about the scouring of the Shire. He didn't want to see Hobbiton destroyed, so he shot an alternate end for Saruman and Grima. Personally, I like this change because adhering to the book would've made the movie even longer than it already is.

1. Scouring of the Shire, not Battle for the Shire.
2. Copy and paste your messages into Word and spell check before posting for all our sake.
3. To my knowledge, Jackson never said it would be in the EE. Why would he lay claim to something he never even filmed, and has expressed disliking towards many a time?

And allow me to add

4) Would it be possible for you to express your outrage without all the profanity?

Mr. Sagate,

While we at DVD Town respect and encourage everyone's opinion and while we sympathize with your frustration that Jackson did not make the movie you wanted him to make, would you please voluntarily clean up your language so that all of our readers can view them without embarrassment.

If you don't edit your own comments and profanities, we will either do it for you or delete them entirely. I hope you understand our desire to make DVD Town as reader friendly as possible to everyone.

Well, the nice thing is, the adult level of intelligence and discussions around DVD Town (for the most part) I assume are too intellectual, and "boring" for the little ones. If the "F" word isn't printed in bold capitol letters every other word, it's not exciting enough. It sort of reminds me of the people that look like "deer" caught in headlights when they pass a car accident. If it doesn't have explosions, gushing blood, or gratuitous sex, it's not interesting to them. Just think... these people are going to be running the world some day. Can anyone say WWIII?

I guess your right. sorry. This site is actually a great site and I guess it tick me off when someone comes in and tries to ruin the essence of it.

Eh, I think that's a little far fetched Roque. Only once in a while do we get the "little kids" trying to "act" grown up by cursing. Fortunately it's only once in a while, on top of which people like John stay on top of these things. I'm proud to be a member of a site that thinks those things are still important.

PS

Speaking of the little things... did anyone else notice the little holiday touches around DVD Town? I think it's pretty cool. Most sites, just leave things as is, and only change when there's a legitimate complaint. Nicely done Henning.
