How to kill the Blu-ray industry...

Exclusives are one of the reasons why the music industry is dying right now. I thought that the movie industry would have been wiser.

This is just utter insaness.

Why in the world would you limit who can sell this. You would be damage the blu-ray sales doing this. If anything you will loose out on potential million buyers if they did this.

The Eagles released "Long Road to Eden" exclusively at Walmart in 2007, it peaked at #1 on the Billboard charts. AC/DC did the same thing in 2008, and again their album peaked at #1 on the Billboard. Therefore, I fail to see how exclusives are not working for the industry. There has to be a substantial reason that studios keep taking this route, and I would assume it's a marketing ploy that seems to work for them. Otherwise, why would they keep doing it?

Considering this movie will almost exclusively be purchased by teenagers I don't think it's such a bad idea that Target and Bestbuy get it.

I would have thought a Wal-Mart exclusive would have been better suited for its intended audience.

Targeted Audience is Teens between 12 and i'm going to go out on a limb and say 20. How many people in this target do you really think are going to buy it on Blu-Ray? And I'm not talking about their parents, I'm talking about the once who have saved 20 dollars for this release and want to buy it day and date. I doubt many of these kids are going to care what they have it on. I think It's safe to say that maybe 15 percent of that target is going to want it on Blu-Ray... if that.

Now I'm not ruling out that there are adults who like this film... I noticed a few on this forum saying it was entertaining... I'm just saying...
