Ever since Christmas the prices have gone up on all the blu ray players with no good deals. I never expected that the Panasonics would be sold out and neither did the company. Cant wait to see how the new Pannys get rated. Does anyone know when they are due out. I've read all over the net many different guesses. Some say end of February while others say beginning of April. Now with hindsight, I wish I had picked up the DMP-BD35 for $210 while it was available.

Wolvi, when the new players come out you will probably be able to get the BD35 for around $200. When the BD35 came out, the BD30 was available for around $200 and even less at some places.

Patience grasshopper.

Problem is that the BD35 is discontinued but maybe your right.... the smaller online shops may sell the ones they have left for $200.

I just chatted with an online Panasonic rep and they said the new players are due out late March. Long time to wait, lol. I will try not to think about it for two more months, lol. I have about 15 BluRay discs at home begging me to watch them(bunch of cheap deals I found during Christmas time).

. . . and $599.

Yeah, that's affordable considering our economic state! Well, it's in reach if you're a greed mongering Republican who has the money to spend!

You're right posters. That would have held me over till the good stuff came out :-) The Mag was missing optical audio and BD-Live.

Software seems to be doing OK. I was able to pick up the two-disc special edition of Wanted at Wal*Mart for $22. There were a host of other movies for under $25 as well which sure surprised me.

You know wolvinator, I just bought a second Funai Clone at Christmas for $99 (Insignia which has optical) and it works great. Why not check with your local BB and see if they have any left. I checked their website yesterday and they had two remaining in their clearance section. You should give it a try. If you want to spend the extra $100 buy the Panasonic 35.
