So I've been working like crazy and not getting out to as many movies as I usually do in the theaters. I'm trying to catch up with rentals, and not wanting to pay $6 a pop at Rogers I decided to try Zip.ca (the Canadian equivalent of NetFlix).

I know there are several Canadians on this board and I was wondering if any of you have had experience with Zip.ca (good or bad). How often do you actually get the top titles on your list, and specifically for those living in Toronto like me, how fast do you usually get new titles after returning the old ones?

Thanks guys.

Chef, I have zip.ca and love it. I have the $10.95 plan which means I get one DVD at-a-time. The trick is to go online once you watch the movie and mark it as returned on their site. That way they send you the next movie available in your queue BEFORE they even receive your movie. )

i live in Toronto also and I usually end up getting the movies in a couple of business days after it was shipped. If you notice on the envelope they provide for you to mail the movie back, the shipping address is downtown. Pretty good service and their customer service has been excellent for me thus far.

Good to hear. I signed up for the free 2 week trial for the 3 at a time plan. I was hoping the turnaround was fast enough to go through 2 sets of three in a week considering I watch about 6 films a week at the moment. My first 3 titles have been shipped from the 107 I added to my list, and unfortunately none of them were Blu-ray and were instead the top 3 DVDs on my list. Not what I would consider a good start, but I am willing to try it out for a while and see if I do start getting some decent titles.

During my 2 week free trial I watched about 6 or 7 movies which was sweet. As soon as I watched one I went to their site and marked it as returned and by the time I got through watching the other 2 I would have 1 in the mail waiting for me. It was pretty sweet.

The one thing that blows is that I rarely get any of my top 20 movies in my queue or even a new release. Maybe it's because I'm on the one-at-a-time plan? They may give priority to the three-at-a-time people, not sure. Otherwise I love the service.

That does blow. They advertise that you get something out of your top 5 at least 85% of the time. But then again when is advertising honest?
