I was wondering if I bought movies from Amizon UK,if they would play on my PS3.It seems there are all differant region codes on that site.Do U.S. blu rays have to be region 1 to play? Thanks.

Actually, that's not true for Blu Ray. There is no such thing as a region 1 Blu Ray. Blus are divided into regions A, B and C. Many, though they are released in one of these regions, and may even say they are coded with one of those regions, are actually region free. Some people will get into a PAL/NTSC discussion with you as well, but that is only an issue watching SD special features. If the disc is region free, the movie itself will play fine on a US player of any kind. I've bought from UK sites, and I've never had a problem, but do your research first, because anything that is region-locked to B or C will not play (without hacking the region-coding on your player, which can also be done, but that's another story...). Check here for reliable info on whether or not the discs you want are region free.

Don't trust Amazon's specifics - they always list everything as Region B, whether it is or not.

Has anyone checked out the big 3 for 2 sale? I never buy from amazon.com when they have this sale, because the prices are too high with shipping to be worth it, but UK actually has really good prices. Many of the DVDs in this sale are in the 9 to 11 pound range, which is about 16-19 for us Canadians, and about $13-16 for Americans. When you add in a 3rd for free, it's even better, woking out to about 6-7 pounds a disc, and shipping (when you buy 3) is only 5 pounds. I found I can get things like Close Encounters, In The Line of Fire and more for around $14 Canadian all-in, after factoring in the free disc and shipping. Not bad. You can probably get a lot of these for about the same in the U.S. through Amazon marketplace, but in Canada, Amazon.ca's marketplace rarely offers Blu for much less than list price. Also, some of the region-free titles that aren't available on Blu in North America are available on the sale, and others that are not eligible for the sale are still decent prices (I ordered JCVD for 13 pounds).
