Why do movie studios feel they have to change the art for home video releases?

Isn't it a benefit that people can recognize the movie from when they saw it in theaters?

Well, all those graphic designers need something to do. It would be all too easy if everything was copy/paste.

Sure it's not from the first half of the TARP funds administered by the the former administration? Or a job bourne out of the tax cuts also from the former administration?
