Anyone STILL buying HD DVD's? I just recieved my latest order from Amazon.com. I ordered up:

Babel
Accepted
The Warriors
Payback
Black Snake Moan

I got each one for $5!! Seems there is a BUNCH for $5 on there right now. If there is still some left come NEXT friday when I gets paid again I will swoop down and buy another 20 or so.

My problem is that there are barely any HD DVD's left that I want. If I do see one for cheap I will definitely jump on it. Great prices for 1080P HD movies.

Too bad the library isn't bigger.

I agree Falcon. I went through the entire Amazon list after this first post and I found myself having to justify buying a few of them even for 5 bucks. There's just not much there I want. I guess I'll take a pass for now. Of course, if they go down to 3 bucks....

Why are some $5.00 and some are $27.00?

Some retailers that sell stuff through Amazon act really weird about HD DVD players and movies. I have seen an HD-A35 player on there for $900!! I have seen some movies for $5, and some for $30. I don't really understand their pricing schemes at all.

Why did you have to start this thread, and say there are $5 HD DVD movies? Do you know what those comments do to bank accounts? Seriously, now I'm actually tempted to buy a few, they even have the free super saving shipping that I like...

yeah ive been hitting up the bargains for hd dvd, i have about 80 or so movies on hd dvd gotta love it, i also have 2 players one for back up. I love the hd dvd format, wish it still wouldve won, i think with the ecomony were in now it would have made more since for the hd dvd format to win since it was cheaper, and to me it was an easyier transition since they already had the combo disc out, plus it was a finished product from day one. Blu ray isnt a bad format i have it as well but i still prefer hddvd, i dunno i just liked it better

I liked it better too. It was less pretentious and the menu system was more intuitive. But that was then and this is now. In BD's defense, I have never had a disk malfunction on my Panasonic player. I can't say the same for HD DVD, especially in its early stages.
