At this point does any one care if they lower the price? I think the Xbox 360 has be accepted as the gamer's game system for this generation and the wii is the greatest thing for small kids.

Well, Sony will no doubt do what they can to fight back.

With Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 this year and a price cut they might have a chance to get some of the lost back on their court.

I have it on good authority that The PS3 price cut will follow the Xbox 360 Blu-Ray drive!

The PS3 is finally getting the games! Killzone2, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear "Guns", Ratchet @ Clank, Uncharted, Little Big Planet....I'll take these over Gears, Halo, and Xbox Live anyday!

And "Yes" I believe their will be a price cut later this year. However even at its current price I feel that this thing is a good deal. I paid $299. for a VCR back in 96!

Well, I wouldn't quite stamp the wii as for "little kids only". IMO, it's really geared at family, meaning people of all ages can enjoy it. From a "gamers" perspective, it's probably true that the wii is not a gamers choice for the killer games, or what gamers perceive as a good game. However, think about how the average Joe can make the most ridiculous film on the planet #1 over a weekend. I think the same theory follows for video games, meaning the average Joe wouldn't know a decent game if it bit them on the ass.

Nevertheless, I don't feel the price cut on the PS3 is going to even make a dent on sales of the system. With our current conditions in the economy, the people have spoke and they said "price over quality". Face it, it is a sign of the current times -- thus the reason the wii has done so well -- and I don't feel there's anything Sony can do at this point to save their asses . . . it's basically been handed to them via Nintendo. Plus, the average consumer is tired of paying for greed and it isn't like most folks are not aware that Sony over-prices their products. Price cut or not, I don't think it will make that much of a difference.

Good games but XBOX still has the edge.

Rumors has it that they will deliver Forza Motorsport 3 before GT5 plus this fall will see Halo 3: ODST. Top that with exclusive episodes of GTA4, Halo Wars and much more.

But Killzone 2 is the first game I have seen on the PS3 with better graphics than XBOX 360 and I'm glad that I'm finally starting to use it for more than Blu-ray.

yeah. and that is sad considering the possibilities of bd gaming! as whiny ani once said to padme.."it's all obi-wan's fault, he's holding me back!"

and then obi-wan cuts lil ani up into pieces (because he had the high ground) and leaves him on the shore's of mustafar to burn. the evil palpatine then rescues charred ani and puts him into bio mechanical suit, making him much more scarier than he was in human form, so i guess ol' obi-wan didn't really do the galaxy any favors...hence maybe whiny lil ani was right all along when he said.."it's all obi-wans fault!".

As I was strolling through bestbuy the other day it really hit me, "$400." That really is alot of money to ask for people to spend on a videogame system. And yes the technophile knows all of the benefits of owning a ps3 and how you might save over comparable hardware with a 360, the average joe just sees the bottom line. And to the average joe who has to really watch their budget now because of the economy the cheapest value oftentimes wins. It would definitely help if Sony lowered the price but at this point I think the competition (360 and wii) is already too established for it to make a big difference.

$400 is still a lot. I have seen the 360 PRO bundles with KFP, and MGS, and two controllers for $299! Sony will have to do better than $400 for the basic 80gig console.
