Warner Bros. has decided that it has had enough of this "one HD format" business and now plans to release some of its films in CBHD, a Chinese high-definition disc format that has so far failed to compete with Blu-ray. If other studios join Warner, perhaps the format war isn't over after all.

Here is the rest.

Well, this is a Chinese version of HD DVD which Toshiba continued to push after the dead of the format in the rest of the world.

However, players and discs will only be released in China.

Perhaps they feed on people's broken dreams and wish to help the format almost get there only to suddenly abandon it at a key moment.

Warner is garbage. Gotta hate them for extending wars and then starting new ones. Most of us wouldn't have adopted HD DVD(love it still) if Warner had made their mind up in the first place.

Very well said Wolv, I said the same thin when WB pulled the rug right out from underneath us last year. But to say that they may start supporting CBHD, well who knows they may start making HD DVD for us Yanks. Bottom line, the format as far as the movies go, should have never been dropped. But that's just my opinion.

Too funny! (And pathetic). Remember that someone posted a picture of the new Chinese players on this forum a couple of months ago and that they looked like clones of the HD A-3 or 35...

the trick to defeating these movies companies is to boycott all of their products...just watch movies when they're shown on tv for free.

That will never happen. People care more about their own entertainment than something so intangible as a corporate entity. And usually the people that are out there preaching to everyone about boycotting something because of their own reasons are a bit detached from reality.

You're kidding right? Because I'd find it hard to believe you haven't bought or used services related to MiniDV, DVD, CD, the Internet, or cell phone. I mean, you did manage to post here. And plus you accept movies for free, from Sony pictures for reviewing? Or are you not truly a big hypocrite and refuse to watch and accept free Sony Picture movies?

Frankly, I think you're a big hypocrite and actually use, beg, borrow, and maybe even steal Sony products or derived services almost every day. And you enjoy them. See, this is where I cannot be as socialist as you, in your terms.

I'm not saying I agree with everything (or anything) Sony has done. It's just a big multi-national company, like Boeing, Toshiba, Apple, or Lockheed Martin. There are other companies that are much worse, and also cause serious problems in the world. I mean we're talking about fire and brimstone, like hundreds of thousands, if not even millions of babies dead because of Nestle's "Milk Baby" campaign as an example. I figure if a corporation is directly or indirectly the sole cause of over 200,000 deaths, it's notable in my opinion, and subject to possible boycott. But you don't even mention those.

Just Sony.
