SPOILERS BELOW! PLEASE AVOID READING IF NOT SEEN MOVIE YET!

I can still remember leaving the theater with a bitter taste on my lips. The Movie wasnt THAT bad, bad i got mad because i got missguided by the poster and trailer. As a concept and a meaning, its quite good, maybe the way it was marketed pushed people the other way around.
We see a group of people which all have lost a family member of theirs by violent crimes, they are all attending group therapy sessions, and they are all mad against the society that caused their losses. Until a man had the idea of creating his own world, away from todays violent and missleading society structure, a world of modesty and proper manners. They created the myth about the "unspoken". they cant show red..because they will attack, the group's well designed effort to avoid blood spilling, to avoid the same thing that made them hate their world. But, its in humans own nature to conflict, there cant be a perfect society, when people are involved, problems allways occure. And this time by the greatest motive of all, Love. Then the blind girl is sent to get medicine. The blind woman who is "lucky" enough not to witness the outside world. It all comes down to "perfect society" and humans own self-destructive nature amongst each other.
I must say, its not a movie i'll want to watch again.(even though the score in my oppinion shows the beuty of simplicity through the violin solo's...which is extreemely atmospheric) Its a good concept, but roughly nicely made.

S Coaster,

Do you know how hard it was for me to talk about a picture for, like, 800 paragraphs without giving away the ending? And you did it in one. I'm sure a lot of people still haven't seen the movie. Perhaps a big, capitalized "SPOILERS" heading should preface your remarks.

Incidentally, I agree with everything you said. I think there's a sweet motive behind Shymalan's movie; evil and corruption come from within, and we can't escape the fact. I just didn't think it was worth a whole movie to get it across in such simplistic and exaggerated terms.

John,

Don't you feel that the movie should've been called "The Amish"? :D

Eddie,

You're just prejudiced, and I for one am offended.

Philadelphians like Night and me never get any respect.

Chris,

Shyamalan's just a dick. If he figured out the formula, then how come he couldn't overcome audiences' negative reaction to the twist in "The Village"? People should start calling him Manoj instead of the pretentious nickname that he gave to himself. Better yet, Manure Sh**malan.

He's great at creating atmosphere, but he needs to diversify his resume.

Night likes to brag about how he's "figured out the formula" for a blockbuster thriller. That's nice, but he needs to realize that's not a well you can keep going to over and over, not if you expect the same reaction. I like Sixth Sense and I'm a huge fan of Unbreakable but after the utterly dreadful third act of Signs and now this dud of a movie, I'm skeptical about whether he'll ever make another interesting movie. He's got some gifts - I love the way he paces scenes - but he might be a one trick pony. We'll see.

My sister guessed the ending, too, though I dismissed her at the time because I didn't think that someone would make that lousy of a movie. You know what? I was wrong. Still, at least I haven't wasted my time watching the damn thing, lol. :D
