"One of the great things about the PS3 is that if you buy it today you can be confident it's going to be the centerpiece of your entertainment for the next 10 years. Economically, that's a great value." http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/ps3-is-going-to-stand-the-test-of-time/?biz=1

Even PHINEAS BOGG thinks that's a LOAD OF CRAP! http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/img/product/resized/00022952-437338_400.jpg

And in the same breath, everyone's salaries were just frozen.

Well, I guess that is one of the best gifts of humanity -- we can at least hope and dream.

I wouldnt count on the ps3 lasting 10 years lol mine broke in less than a year, with hardly any use other than blu ray movies. The ps3 has disc drive fail rate like the 360 does with the red ring of death, also my friends ps3 craped out after 8 months of use cause of the same disc drive failure. I think sony really droped the ball on this console race, they were more worried about winning a format war rather than takeing care of the sony flag ship( the Playstation brand). What is sad about the format war is that i think both formats probably beat each other, if that makes since. I dont see blu ray taking off like dvd did, and i dont see it replacing dvd.

That's interesting scion. How did you know the problem was the disc drive and was Sony willing to repair it without a fee? I sold my ps3 last year and bought a stand alone blu-ray player because I was worried about this very issue. I only used my ps3 for movies and I was worried about wearing out the drive motor. I might have kept my ps3 though even with this worry if Sony decided to offer an extended warranty for the ps3. It is the only high end product that they sell where they don't offer any type of warranty for beyond the manufacturers warranty. I want to say that its because its so reliable but apparently that's not the case.

I knew the blu ray drive went bad because when I ever I would put a movie in the ps3 it wouldn't read anything just kept trying to load, I read at a lot of tech sites that the lens on ps3 is very senstive and when it goes it bricks the blu ray drive. I could still stram stuff from from computer to the ps3 and watch videos off my flash drive on the ps3 just wouldn't play any physical media. They did not charge me to fix it cause it was under warrenty, got it in to repair with 5 days left on it lol I got lucky. But if the warrenty is up its 160 bucks, if I had to pay that I probably would've just bought a stand alone player

What an underrated show..oh wait, I almost forgot that John Eric Hexxum (sp)..the star of "Voyagers" and a fast rising star, shot himself in the temple with a prop gun while toying around on a film set and died. I remember this because we loved that show. It certainly deserve's a dvd release.
