Do you think they'll be releasing a 'complete series collection' on blu anytime soon?

You never know but it is not likely since the various films are owned by different studios.

I have not seen this one yet but MPEG-2 is not bad in itself. It just needs a lot of space to be good.

If the Blu-ray were only available at retail, meaning over twice the price of the Superbit edition, I'd agree. However, Amazon has (or had) the Blu-ray on sale for only a couple of bucks more than the Superbit. Seems like a deal to me.

Going with MPEG-2 was a stupid marketing mistake, though. Not because the picture quality is any worse if implemented properly but because the very thought of it turns off the videophiles and early adopters in the know, and they make up a sizable portion of the buying public.

Well, I watched it and I can't say I noticed anything that seemed majorly weak in PQ or AQ. I'd rate the picture around 7 or 8, and since it is a dialog driven film, the audio would rate about the same. Keep in mind, "Silence of da' lambs" is certainly not your show-off disc to your friends -- it never was, even in DVD. Nevertheless, I thought the details, color and clarity were very well done for a film that is close to 20-years old.
