Well Eddie,

I rented Twilight on Blu-Ray this weekend, and no go. That will probably teach me for renting Twilight... LOL Well after speaking with Funai and Insignia, there are no new firmware updates available, and there were no current plans to release an update according to both service people I spoke with. They are aware of the issue and have no current plans to correct it. However they did manage to take my info and would send me an e-mail, when any new news arrives. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? I ended up back at the rental store and trading it in for the DVD copy. I even got a partial refund! That $1.05 covered the gas I guess... LOL My computer incidently played the disk with no issues, but I did not feel like re-setting up the HTPC to the home theatre, albeit a two minute fix. I guess my mentality was to let the rental store that the movie doesn't play in a all Blu-Ray players...

reaggie,

well, there is a firmware upgrade for the sylvania models, and considering that none of the menus mention companies' names, you can probably use the firmware upgrade and not notice any differences.

What was that post all about -----^ lol

Anyway, this confirms my fears that players will have to be updated forever. When will Blu Ray get it right. I'm hoping my Panny has no problems but I don't think there is a perfect player available for Blu Ray.

Both Firmware updates did nothing. Not recognized by player. I tried both on CD-R and DVD+R. Yeah, I'll wait for the actuall software to come out.

No problems to report on my PS3 playing the BD Twilight or the SD DVD version... I bought the SD DVD, sold it and bought the BD for the wife and kids.
